THE GLOBAL GOALS

At COOL 4 SEA & INDUSTRY we are committed to operate in congruence with UNGC principles on responsible business conduct and sustainable development. Here you can read more about how we’re trying to reach the global goals.

“Ensure access to affordable, reliable sustainable and modern energy”

COOL 4 SEA & INDUSTRY contributes to the global rate of improvement, by improving the efficiency of cooling on ships and in industrial processes. Conventional methods for cooling have a coefficient of performance (COP) of 2 – 4 whereas COOL 4 SEA & INDUSTRY has a COP ranging from 30 – 35.

“Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation”

The design from COOL 4 SEA & INDUSTRY can be used for both retrofit and new ship design. In both instances, the efficiency in resource-use is increased, because the need for fuel to generate electricity is reduced. In industrial processes is the potential for utilization of energy even higher as the generation of cooling can be supplied with preheating of other processes.

“Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns”

Normally, conventional cooling systems use toxic refrigerants which are harmful to the environment, and requires fuel to generate electricity whereby CO2, NOx and SOx are emitted. The design from COOL 4 SEA & INDUSTRY only uses waste heat and minimal amount of electricity. The refrigerant is just water and the absorbent in the cooling system is a lithium bromide compound, which is not dangerous to the environment nor human health in case of leaks.

“Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact”

COOL 4 SEA & INDDUSTRY’s cooling system reduces CO2 emissions with up to 94% and thereby the likelihood of future climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries.

“Conserve and Sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources”

COOL 4 SEA & INDUSTRY’s cooling design reduces CO2, NOx and SOx pollution by utilizing waste heat that is already being generated by the ship, rather than burning additional fuel to generate electricity for cooling which pollutes the environment.
